Des Moines Salvation Army Collecting Coats, Giving Coats To Those In Need
Salvation Army aims to outfit everyone in need for winter with its Great Coat Giveaway on Friday.

DES MOINES, IA. -- People in need of winter coats will find help this Friday at three area Salvation Army Family Store locations. Stores downtown and on the north and south sides of the city will distribute coats at no cost during regular store hours.
In addition, new and gently used coats will be accepted at each of the six area Family Stores in advance of the distribution day.
"We want to make sure no one has to go without a coat this winter, especially children," Major Tim Miller said in a post on the Salvation Army Family Stores of Des Moines Facebook page.
