  1. Des Moines police have identified a teenager who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday. Officials say the victim of the crash was 14-year-old Ema Cardenas of Des Moines. The vehicle that was allegedly involved in the incident has also reportedly been located and impounded. (Local 5 - weareiowa.com)
  2. Des Moines Public Schools held the first of five planned community conversations on Thursday after a shooting outside East High School last month. The sessions are intended to give students and community members a platform to voice their concerns about safety and begin healing. The second community conversation will be held on Monday, May 2, at Lincoln High School. (Des Moines Register)
  3. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is looking to hire dozens of agents to help support summer travel at the Des Moines International Airport. The agency held a hiring fair at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel on Thursday and Friday in an attempt to help expedite the recruitment process. New hires will receive a starting pay of $18.95 an hour as well as an additional $1,000 recruitment bonus. (KCCI Des Moines)
