Man Stabbed At DM Apartment Dies, Suspect Detained: UPDATED

DES MOINES, IA — A 42-year-old man stabbed tonight at a north-side apartment building has died, Des Moines police report. A suspect has been detained in connection with the investigation.

Sgt. Paul Parizek said police were called to 1100 Euclid Ave. to investigate a stabbing shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found the victim with a stab wound to the upper body. He was transported to an area hospital, where police report he later died.

The suspect was located nearby and has been detained. No charges have yet been filed and police remain at the apartment building to search for evidence.
