Man Threw Water At Iowa Rep. Steve King: Police
Police say Rep. Steve King, an Iowa Republican, was eating with a group of people when he was approached by the man.

FORT DODGE, IA — A Colorado man was arrested after police say he threw a glass of water at Iowa Rep. Steve King, the Republican lawmaker who was removed from his committee positions in the House this year after he made controversial comments about white supremacy in an interview with The New York Times.
Police said they received a call around 12:30 p.m. on Friday regarding an assault at Mineral City Mill and Grill in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

King was having a group lunch when the man approached his table, police said. The man approached King and asked who he was before throwing a glass of water on him, police said.
Some of water struck others who were also eating with King, according to police.

Police said that based on witness information, it is believed King was targeted because he is a congressman.
The man arrested by police was identified as 26-year-old Blake Gibbins of Lafayette, Colorado. Police said he is charged with two counts of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct.
No one was injured during the incident, police said.
