Pleasant Hill Man Charged With Murder Following Fight
The murder in the community east of Des Moines is the first homicide in a decade.

PLEASANT HILL, IA — A homicide early Sunday was the first murder in the community east of Des Moines in a decade. But police have not provided details about how 41-year-old Tim Neal died.
KCCI-TV reported that Neal had been involved in an argument with his daughter's boyfriend, according to police. A witness also reportedly told police that Neal was kicked in the head during the fight, which took place around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Pleasant Hill Boulevard, behind the Hy-Vee store.
Ricky St. John, 26, of Pleasant Hill has been charged with first-degree murder.

Neal is the grandfather of St. John’s children, family members told KCCI.
St. John remained in the Polk County Jail early today. He is being held without bond.
