Goodwill Names Internal Candidate New CEO

Pat Airy has been named the new CEO at Goodwill of the Heartland. Airy will start on June 18.

Goodwill of the Heartland has hired an internal candidate to serve as its new chief executive officer.

Pat Airy, who currently serves as chief operations officer, was selected from a pool of 80 candidates, according to a statement from . She will take over the duties of chief executive on June 18.

Airy in February. Goodwill declined to elaborate calling it a personnel issue, but Nock said he was pursuing new opportunities.

Airy has worked for Goodwill for 25 years.

“Pat brings an unmatched depth and breadth of knowledge about Goodwill of the Heartland that will suit us well as we grow and work through challenges in the human services field,” Terri Davis of Shuttleworth and Ingersoll, chair of the Goodwill of the Heartland Board of Directors, said in the statement from Goodwill. “Pat’s personal leadership and her enthusiasm to help others develop their leadership skills are valuable assets that made her stand out."

Airy, who lives in Hiawatha, said in the statement that she has wanted to lead a Goodwill.

“I’ve known for a long time that I eventually wanted to lead a Goodwill and I’m pleased that I get to do that with this organization, which I’m passionate about,” said Airy. “Our board members, senior leaders, staff and clients are tremendous and I’m honored to get to work with them to grow Goodwill of the Heartland so that we can serve more people throughout our territory.”
