Iowa City Police: Man Facing Felony Sexual Abuse Charges for Having Sexual Contact with Pre-Teen Girl
The man allegedly admitted to having sexual contact with the girl starting between 2008-2010, when she was in second or third grade.

An Iowa City man is facing several felony charges after allegedly admitting to accusations that he had inappropriate sexual contact with a girl between 2008-2010, when she was in 2nd or 3rd grade, and three times this year as well.
According to Iowa City Police criminal complaints filed in the Johnson County Courthouse, the girl, now 12, told police that Michael John Walker, 55, of Iowa City, had performed sex acts on her on several occassions when she was younger. The girl also told police that Walker had performed sex acts on her three times in January through February 2013.
Walker was Mirandized and interviewed by police on March 1, and he allegedly admitted to having committed these sexual acts on the girl when she was in 2nd or 3rd grade and then this year as well. His version of events reportedly corresponded with that of the girl's account.

The relationship between Walker and the girl, where these acts took place, and the nature of the acts themselves were not mentioned in the complaints.
According to online jail records, Walker was booked into the Johnson County Jail on March 1 and charged with one count of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony.
