Iowa City Police Nab Canine Kidnapper, Recover Dog

The Iowa City Police have announced they have arrested a suspect in a stealing of a dog from Petland.

According to a media release, the Iowa City Police responded to Petland Friday in reference to a dog having been stolen from the store. Information regarding the theft, including footage of the suspect, was released.

The Iowa City Police received numerous calls from the public identifying a potential suspect, according to the release. Officers acted on this information and located the suspect. The dog was recovered and returned to Petland unharmed.

The suspect was not named as charges are pending in the case.
