Alas, the poor Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team seems to NIT bound again this year, after losing to Indiana on the road last night. But the future appears to be bright for them. (ESPN)

West High senior basketball player Jeremy Morgan was named Athlete of the Year in the Mississippi Division of the Mississippi Valley Conference, and West’s Steve Bergman was named Coach of the Year in the division.

Morgan and junior teammate Wyatt Lohaus also were unanimous first-team selections in the Mississippi Division. Senior Myzeah Batie-Gaddy also made the first team for the Trojans.

Senior Austin Swank made the second team for West, and senior Jason Stewart and junior Chike Ukah were honorable mentions. Stewart and senior Josh Verry earned all-academic honors.
