Police Arrest Iowa City Man Suspected of Yelling Obscenities and Threatening Spectators at Little League Game at City Park
Police have arrested Phillip Chavis, 29, on a public intoxication charge.

Iowa City police have arrested an Iowa City man who is suspected of yelling obscenities and threatening spectators at an Iowa City little league baseball game at City Park on Sunday.
Police say they found Phillip Chavis, 29, of 2140 Sandusky Drive, standing outside in a parking lot in Lower City Park at 9:44 p.m. on Sunday. Chavis smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech, according to a police criminal complaint. He was alone near two open Busch Light beer cans, but denied drinking them, according to police.
Chavis was suspected of attending a little league game in the park earlier and while there yelling obscenities and threatening spectators, according to the report. Chavis scored a .275 post-arrest breath test, according to police.
