Watch This: Iowa City West Triumphs Over Sun Prairie (Wis.) in Weekend Border Battle
Iowa City West boys basketball took time out of their normal schedule this past weekend to play in an exhibition game against Sun Prairie High School in the Wisconsin Dells. West triumphed 59-55.
Here's a write-up with a perspective of West High from a Wisconsin paper, the Sun Prairie Star.
They are a solid basketball team and very good,” said Sun Prairie head coach Jeff Boos. “They were 26-0 last year and came into this game 10-0. They are solid in all phases of the game and a very quality team. They are different than any team we’ve seen this year. They don’t have great quickness, but they are solid and have three D-1 players and they play well together.”
Added Boos, “I think we’re probably as good as they are. We had our opportunities, but we just weren’t able to close the deal. It’s the small, little things that cost us. We made some correctable mistakes, but those are the things you can’t afford against a quality team like that.
