KCRG is predicting that the four to eight inch range is most likely for the Iowa City area. With the current snowfall total predictions, it looks like Iowa City may be closer to the four inches than the eight inches by the time it is all said and done, but stay tuned and drive safe tomorrow morning in particular.
Areas of snow will move back into our area after sunset, with the heaviest snow falling after midnight. Moderate to occasionally heavy snow will continue through the morning, tapering off by evening. The heaviest snow bands will likely fall in areas closer to the Mississippi River. As a result, this is where the heaviest totals of 8-10” are going to be. To the southwest, including Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City, storm total snowfall of 4-8” is likely. Generally south of Interstate 80, accumulations will end up around 2-4”. This includes the snow that fell earlier today.
