PHOTOS: Acts Shine at Johnston's Big Give Talent Show
The Second Annual Johnston's Big Give raised funds for local charities.
The second year of the Johnston's Big Give fundraiser was just as successful as the first.
The second annual fundraiser, hosted by the Johnston High School student council, aimed to raise funds for the Johnston Partnership and other local charities.
Johnston's Big Give is comprised of several events - a talent show, pancake breakfast and an overtime event following a basketball game.

The talent show, held Jan. 31, featured 12 acts made of soloists, trios, duets, small groups, bands and more.
Performers were judged by fellow students and one staff member.

Andrew Mills, junior, was selected as winner of the talent show for his performance of his original poem "Deep".
In all, the talent show raised $1,700 for the Big Give campaign.
A DVD of the talent show can be purchased by contacting student council advisor Chris Beguhn.
Honorable mention was awarded to:
- “Good Riddance” performed by Devon Wood
- “Only Just the Way You Truly Are” performed by Melia Black, Karsen Kramer, Emily Scott, Simone Doswell, and Laura Smalley.
- “What Makes You Beautiful” performed by the Dragon Dreamers
- “Fireman Remix” performed by (Tres Comocozis) Spencer Moser, Tyler Smaha, Matthew Hanstad
