Fidel Castro Gets Driving Charge and Impounded Vehicle: Johnston Police Calls

Johnston Police responded to a runaway, a dog on the loose and a domestic dispute between a husband and wife.

Johnston Police Officers may have done a double-take last week.

Officer Bradley Lowe encountered one Fidel Castro Jr. Of course, Fidel Castro was the longtime Cuban prime minister and president with a testy relationship with the United States, and is now in his 90s.

This Castro is 19 and was charged with driving with a suspended license and then had his vehicle impounded in Johnston.

Officer Steven Johnson responded to a report of a runaway at 7:45 p.m. on March 25. Youth Homes of Mid America reported the runaway. The boy returned later on his own.

Officer Bradley Lowe charged Fidel Castro Jr., 19, with driving while license suspended, denied, cancelled or revoked at 11:22 p.m. on March 25 at 5000-B Merle Hay Road. The narrative states that Castro was "arrested for driving while suspended and no insurance" and his vehicle was impounded.

Officer Bradley Lowe responded to call about a domestic dispute between a husband and wife at 1:34 a.m. on March 26. No names or charges are listed in the call log.

Johnston Police received a call at 9:27 a.m. on March 27 about vehicle issues. "Victim reported someone had his truck while it was parked in his driveway. Witness described suspect vehicle as an older Lincoln Continental either dark blue or blk with a blonde female driver," according to Johnston Police logs.
