Johnston Board Honors Tammi Schwaderer For Service to District
The board recognized Tammi Schwaderer for her time spent working with the Johnston High School band department.

Each month the Johnston school district recognizes someone who goes above and beyond the ordinary to support education.
This month, the district honored Tammi Schwaderer for her time volunteering in the district with a R.O.S.E. Award.
Tammi has been a member of the Johnston High School Parent Band Association, served as uniform coordinator for the band and provides hundreds of house of service to the district.
"Tammi has been volunteering with the district for quite some time," Johnston Superintendent Clay Guthmiller said. "She is very well liked and enjoys getting to know the students as individuals."
"She's contributed a great deal to the students of Johnston," Guthmiller said. "We certainly want to commend you for your work."
Schwaderer was nominated for the honor by band director Pat Kearney.
"It's easy to talk about hours," Kearney said of how often Schwaderer volunteers. "But she creates great relationships with students."
R.O.S.E. Award
Any community member is encouraged to nominate a student, employee or community member who they feel has gone “above and beyond.” Nomination forms are available at any school office, Johnston Administrative Resource Center, City of Johnston Public Library, or via the district’s website. The form requires the nominee’s name, school/organization affiliation, and brief explanation of why they should be selected. The person nominating someone would also need to include his or her name and phone number.
