Johnston Police Blotter Rewind: Animal Abuse, Runaway

The Johnston Police Department investigated a number of calls Feb. 6 to Feb. 11. Take a look at the reports.

Editor's note: All information is provided by the Johnston Police Department in incident reports through Feb. 11. Dates below are when the incident was reported or occurred, not when an arrest or charges were filed. Charges do not always result in convictions. All individuals listed below are innocent until proven guilty.

Feb. 5
Youth Homes of Mid America reported a runaway. He was later returned by his father.

Feb. 6
A 25-year-old woman reported being harassed by a customer at work.

Megan Seibert, 19, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

A 47-year-old man hired a contractor to construct a building on his property. He reported the contractor stole monies intended to purchase materials.

Feb. 7
Benjamin Cenarrusa, 37, was arrested for driving while revoked.

A 57-year-old woman reported receiving an obscene picture on her cell phone from an unknown male.

A 29-year-old woman reported being pushed by a male subject, the victim did not want to press charges.

Feb. 8
Officers responded to a case of animal abuse after a 66-year-old man took his dog to the veterinarian for a regular check-up.
It determined that the dog had been shot twice by a BB Gun.
Police officials said the owner didn't witness the incident and was unsure when it could have occurred.
The dog appeared to be fine otherwise.

A parent reported his daughter's Nintendo 3DS was stolen sometime in August 2012. He believes it was taken from one of the KTC summer programs and he did not know that it was taken until sometime in December. He advised the game system cost $170 and the game was $30. He needed a police report to switch his online account to the new game system that replaced the stolen one.

Feb. 9
Julie Zahnd, 46, was arrested for assault.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in regards to a dispute between a female subject and her ex-boyfriend. The male subject was not present when officers arrived.

Feb. 10
Officers responded to a report of an underage party at AmericInn Hotel. Two males and two females under the age of 21 were found with alcohol.

A 46-year-old woman reported receiving harassing phone calls she believes are from a former employee.

Feb. 11
Kristi Cobb, 28, was arrested for OWI and cited for driving with an expired registration.
