Johnston Police Blotter Rewind: Manufacturing Marijuana, Fraudulent Check

The Johnston Police Department investigated a number of calls Jan. 18 to Jan. 24. Take a look at the reports.

Dates below are when the incident was reported or occurred, not when an arrest or charges were filed. Charges do not always result in convictions. All individuals listed below are innocent until proven guilty.

Jan. 18
A 34-year-old woman reported her daughter's boyfriend was at her residence and was refusing to leave. Subject was gone when officers arrived.

Jan. 19
Jasmine Gant, 21, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

A 51-year-old man reported fraudulent charges on his credit card.

Kelsey Magee, 24, was arrested for public intoxication.

Jan. 20
Justin Kightlinger, 21, was arrested after police officers found marijuana plants in the basement. The marijuana was first found when the fire department responded to a call of a chimney fire.

A 20-year-old woman reported being harassed by her boyfriend after she asked him to move out of the apartment they shared.

Jan. 21
A 48-year-old woman reported receiving harassing text messages from her ex-boyfriend.

Jan. 22
Christopher Jones, 43, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.

A 16-year-old student reported receiving harassing text messages from a male student at JHS.

Two male students were charged with disorderly conduct for fighting at JMS.

Bank Iowa reported a male subject came into the bank and cashed a fraudulent check.

Jan. 23
A man reported his adult son was intoxicated and being assaultive with him. The son was arrested for domestic assault.

Jan. 24
A 51-year-old man reported a burglary at his new residence.
