Johnston Police Blotter Rewind: Outstanding Warrant, Assault After School
The Johnston Police Department investigated a number of calls Jan. 27 to Feb. 4. Take a look at the reports.

Dates below are when the incident was reported or occurred, not when an arrest or charges were filed. Charges do not always result in convictions. All individuals listed below are innocent until proven guilty.
Jan. 27
Matthew Welter, 37, was arrested on an outstanding Dallas County warrant and turned over to Dallas County Deputy.
Jan. 28
A Johnston Middle School parent reported her son had been assaulted by another male student after school hours.
Ricky Newberry, 30, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jan. 30
All Pro Concrete reported someone had pried open their construction trailer door and taken tools and other items for the trailer. The approximate loss was over $2,500.
A 39-year-old man reported a man had taken his coats from a bar. Officer made contact with the male subject and retrieved one coat. Victim did not want charges, worked out arrangements to get the other coat.
Jan. 31
A 45-year-old man reported a phone scam that involved a man claiming to be a representative from his existing satellite service company. The victim reported a loss of over $500.
A 61-year-old woman reported someone had stolen check out of an envelope that was in her mailbox.
A parent of a Johnston Middle School student reported his son had some items stolen from the school. The victim had placed items in the Lost and Found and another student had taken them. No charges were filed.
Feb. 2
Baker Electric reported someone broke into their trailer, wire was reported stolen.
A 51-year-old man reported someone in a white SUV damaged his wooden mailbox.
Feb. 3
Kathryn Balk, 24, was arrested for driving while revoked.
Feb. 4
Cody Loftis, 21, was arrested for public intoxication.
