Johnston, Urbandale Police Work Together on Budget Storage Thefts
A number of storage units have been broken into over the last month.

Local police agencies are looking for individuals in connection with vehicle and storage unit thefts.
A joint investigation between Urbandale police and Johnston detectives served two warrants on March 1 on a Des Moines house and a Budget Storage unit in Johnston.
The warrants were issued after a tip, the Des Moines Register reported.

Police were able to recover more than $10,000 in property in the storage unit, including a Harley Davidson motorcycle, Johnston's Lt. Lynn Aswegan told the newspaper.
Within the last month there have been four reported storage units broken into at the Budget Storage, 5267 Merle Hay Road. Officers identified eight units where items had been taken.

Aswegan told the newspaper that officers also found property connected to thefts at the RC Storage, 5323 Meredith Drive and vehicles thefts in Des Moines.
In Urbandale, at least five thefts had been reported at the Budget Storage, 9821 Douglas Ave.
Urbandale detectives are still processing the evidence recovered with the warrants, the Register reported.
Police officials urged residents to check their storage units.
Police have identified suspects but no one has been arrested yet.
Charges could include second-degree theft and burglary, but additional could be filed, officials said.
