Moving Forward Together Program Provides Hope, Healing in Johnston

Celebrate Johnston and Hamilton's Funeral Home host the community event.

Nearly one year ago, the Johnston community was reeling from the loss of two young lives.

While the healing continues, this Wednesday, Celebrate Johnston and Hamilton's Funeral Home, host "Moving Forward Together", a program of hope and healing.

There will be conversations to help guide parents and concerned community members as they help and support Johnston youth who have experienced grief and loss.

Last January, two 15-year-old boys, one a Johnston High School student and one a Johnston Middle School student, died in unrelated suicides

Cameron Carico, a ninth-grader, died Saturday morning Jan. 28, while Spenser Nelson, a 10th-grader, died on Sunday night, Jan. 29.

Moving Forward Together will be presented at 8 p.m. Wednesday at The Bridge, 10025 Northwest 62nd Avenue.

"Celebrate Johnston" is a call to action to support youths and families in the community.
