Photos: Cub Scouts Donate Flag to Johnston Public Library

The flag was flown during a mission in Afghanistan.

An American flag that traveled thousands of miles found a new home in the Johnston Public Library.

Johnston Cub Scout Pack 29, of Lawson Elementary, dedicate a flag carried on a mission in Afghanistan - known as "Operation Bullwhip".

The flag was gifted to the scouts by Lt. Col. John Perkins as a thank you for support while he was deployed.

An engraved box, purchased by the scouts, will display the flag at the library for the community to enjoy.
