Public Meeting Focuses on Northwest Beaver Drive Reconstruction Project
The City of Johnston Public Works Department will be hosting a public information meeting for the NW Beaver Drive Reconstruction Project.

The City of Johnston Public Works Department will be hosting a public information meeting for the NW Beaver Drive Reconstruction Project.
The meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Johnston Public Library.
The proposed project involves reconstructing NW Beaver Drive from NW Johnston Drive to approximately 1,200 feet south of NW 62nd Avenue and upgrading the roadway from a two-lane rural section to a three-lane urban section with one (1) through lane in each direction and a center two-way left turn lane.

The project also involves various public utility improvements, adding sidewalk along the west side of NW Beaver Drive and spot improvements at the NW Beaver Drive and NW Johnston Dr. intersection.Â
The current schedule calls for the design of the NW Beaver Drive Reconstruction Project to be completed in 2013 and the project constructed in 2014.

The purpose of the public information meeting is to provide an update on the project’s design and preliminary easement needs, answer questions, and listen to comments regarding the project.
City of Johnston Public Work staff and design consultant staff from HR Green, Inc. will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
