Johnston High School Show Choirs Shine at Competition: PHOTOS

The Johnston High School show choirs were singing a sweet tune after the weekend.

Synergy and Innovation headed to Hastings, Minnesota for the Swingin' on the River competition.

Synergy, Johnston's A Division Choir, took first place at the competition.

Innovation, Johnston's AA Division Choir, took first runner-up in their division.

Swingin' on the River is an annual competition hosted by three show choirs in Hastings high School.

Next, the groups will compete at the Cedar Rapids Jefferson competition on March 9.

Innovation, made up of students in tenth to twelfth grade, combines elements of singing, dancing and performing in a 20-minute show.

Synergy, also made up of student in tenth to twelfth grades, combines elements of singing, dancing and performing in a 15-minute show.
