Where Can You Sign $41 Million Bond Petition?

The petition will be presented to the board of education on Monday.

There is still time to sign a petition for the $41 million bond issue.

On Jan. 14 the Johnston Board of Education approved a bond petition that would authorized a special election on June 25.

The petition must collect 525 signatures before being presented at Monday's board meeting.

Eligible voters can sign the petition at tonight's Johnston High School wrestling meet at 6:30 p.m. or Friday's varsity basketball game vs. Urbandale at 6:15 p.m.

Both activities are at Johnston High School.

The $41 million bond vote is only one part of a larger, $121 million facilities plan for the district.

The plan, while similar to one that failed on Sept. 11, is revised to fit community input and needs.
