Where Can You Sign $41 Million Bond Petition?

There is still time to sign a petition for the $41 million bond issue.

On Jan. 14 the Johnston Board of Education approved a bond petition that would authorized a special election on June 25.

The petition must collect 525 signatures before being presented at Monday's board meeting.

Eligible voters can sign the petition at tonight's Johnston High School wrestling meet at 6:30 p.m. or Friday's varsity basketball game vs. Urbandale at 6:15 p.m.

Both activities are at Johnston High School.

• Horizon Elementary – 5905 NW 100th
• Lawson Elementary – 5450 NW 62nd Ave
• Timber Ridge Elementary – 7370 NW 54th Ave
• Wallace Elementary – 6510 NW 62nd Ave
• Johnston Community School District Administrative Resource Center – 5608 Merle Hay Road

The $41 million bond vote is only one part of a larger, $121 million facilities plan for the district.

The plan, while similar to one that failed on Sept. 11, is revised to fit community input and needs.
