Performance — Strum and Jam Jan. 13.
Musicians from Red Cedar Chamber Music will be performing starting at 2 p.m. at Summit Pointe in Marion. Red Cedar Chamber Music describes itself this way on their website: "Its mission is to perform chamber music with virtuosity, energy, and artistic excellence, enriching broad and diverse local, domestic, and international audiences through concerts and educational activities; to stimulate creative artistic collaborations to reach this goal."
Coffeehouse Night at Lowe Jan. 13.

The will be putting on a music/coffee/art gallery appreciation show at Lowe Park starting at 6:30 p.m. Truckstop Souvenir, a two-piece band with accompaniment from an upright bass player, Troy Morgan, will hold a concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The band, which hails from Fairfield, will be playing "Original American Music." The event is free.Â

Dave Rasdal, The Cedar Rapids Gazette Columnist, will be holding a talk on his recently published book: "Ramblin':Reflections of Hidden Iowa," based of his Ramblin' columns. The talk will be held at the from 2 to 3 p.m. According to the library's Facebook page, it should be good. "Dave will be a lot of fun and you'll be able to chat with him and ask questions!"
Marley & Me: The Puppy Years Jan. 15.
The will host a free showing of Twentieth Century Fox's straight-to-DVD prequel of Marley and Me, Marley and Me: The Puppy Years. The showing will be from 2:15 to 3:34 p.m. Families can bring their own snacks and children under 9 must be supervised.
