
A 5-year-old child is in critical condition after police found the child in a creek in Cedar Rapids.
The unidentified child left his residence without permission on Friday, and after the parents couldn't locate the child, they called Cedar Rapids Police at 6:39 p.m. on Friday.Â
Police said in a news release that the child left the residence without permission, and the parents searched unsuccessfully in the immediate area. Cedar Rapids Police and Cedar Rapids Fire searched and located the child in Indian Creek, south of the residence.Â
According to the news release, responders from police, fire and ambulance initiated CPR and transported the child to a local hospital where the child remains in critical condition.Â
