Rules for Submissions from the City of Marion Media Release
The City of Marion is in the process of redeveloping its website. To incorporate images that fully represent Marion, community members are invited to submit images to the 2013 Community Call for Photos. Photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate. Images should capture the essence of the Marion community - from the beautiful parks and facilities, to the great events and celebrations.
Select photos will be used to help create the conceptual design for the website, and ultimately may be featured on the City’s newly developed website. Once the site launches, citizens who submitted pictures that were used in the design will be recognized via news release, in the Marion Messenger, and featured in a Facebook gallery.
Photos should fall within any of the following categories:
• People enjoying community events and activities
• Nature including trails, parks, recreational areas
• Events focusing on community parades, festivals, holidays and other community events
• Landmarks showcasing iconic buildings, structures and natural features
Photos must be in color and submitted in a digital format. Pictures will only be accepted if they have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Alternatively, a resolution of 72 dpi will be accepted, as long as the pixel width or height is at least 1,000. Photos taken during any of Marion’s past four seasons are welcomed.
Complete one entry form per picture and email it along with the image to website@cityofmarion.org. Submissions will be accepted now through Friday, May 31. For complete contest rules, visit www.cityofmarion.org or call 319-743-6345.
