Central City Woman Injured in County Home Road Accident Near Highway 13
The Linn County Sheriff's Department responded to a two vehicle accident on County Home Road on Tuesday evening. One woman was transported to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.

A Central City woman was hospitalized for minor injuries after a two-vehicle accident on County Home Road near Highway 13 yesterday evening.
According to a release from the Linn County Sheriff's Department, at about 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 22, Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue, Area Ambulance and the Marion Fire Department were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on County Home Road roughly a quarter mile west of Hwy 13. Â
After subsequent investigation, deputies determined that Brandon Deverell, 30, of Cedar Rapids had been going east on County Home Rd, when he made a lane change and was hit by a vehicle driven by Samantha Beck, 22, of Central City. Â Beck was also going east on County Home Rd at the time of the collision, according to the release.

Deverell, his passenger, and Beck were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. Â Deverell and his passenger were not injured, according to the release.
Beck was transported to Mercy Hospital by Area Ambulance with minor injuries. Deverell was cited for careless driving.  The crash is still under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office
