Child Care Service Much More than Babysitting: Marion Business Spotlight
Kiddie Corral offers registered in-home child care and flexible hours for infants to age 5.

When children are left in the care of Kiddie Corral, it's more than just a babysitting service, said Debbie Reid, a child care provider and owner of Kiddie Corral.
"We are not babysitters; we are much more than that," Reid said. "We really are constantly learning, developing, and growing. We are not just providing you a place to take your child while you work, we are providing a safe place, nutrition, learning opportunities, growth and development in many areas, knowledge in child development, health, and much more."
Kiddie Corral provides "registered in-home child care" for infants through age 5, with some flexibility. Hours are seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Reid said single parents particularly may find convenience in the flexible hours.

"We provide care for hours and days that are often difficult for working parents to find," Reid said. "Single parents especially have a difficult time in today's job market finding the normal 9 to 5 hours."
Reid has been in business for nearly 40 years.
"As I became a mom, I found a huge shortage of places I felt OK about taking my child to. Way back in the old days there wasn't a lot of choices," Reid said. "I started taking one, then two, then it just kept growing. As I became more involved and researched child care, and child development I knew I was doing something I loved and was definitely enjoying."
