Draco Update: Linn-Mar Has 2-Hour Delayed Start, Power Outage Continues for 409 Linn County Residents

The wrath of the first big winter storm of 2012, Draco, continues today with strong winds and negative-degree windchill.

Linn-Mar schools are on a two-hour delay today, the school reports. Buses on hard surface road only, the school states on its website.

Also, about 409 Alliant Energy customers who live in Linn County remain without power this morning. That is down from more than 11,000 residents at point on Thursday.

There is no rural service for Linn County LIFTS.

The weather is expected to be brutally cold today.

The National Weather Service forecast predicts a high of only 16 and a wind chill as low as negative 15, and a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Tonight is expected have a low of around 1 and a wind chill of negative 10.
