18-Year-Old Faces Charge Following Death of Marion Motorcycle Driver
The man who collided with Marion resident Matthew Dunkel has been charged.

Marion police filed charges today against Jagger Glubka, 18, of Cedar Rapids, in the death of a motorcyclist from Marion.
Glubka was the driver of the SUV that struck and killed Matthew Dunkel, 40, who was driving a motorcycle, according to an accident report. Glubka was charged "an enhanced penalty of failure to yield upon entering a through highway causing death," according to a statement from Marion police today.
The statement contained few details, though, and Marion police have yet to return messages seeking more information about the charges.

According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, the charge allows "the judge to increase the fine by $1,000 and suspend his driver’s license for up to 180 days."
The accident occurred on March 24. At the time, the reported that Dunkel was heading north on Highway 13 when Glubka turned from Hennessey Drive onto northbound Highway 13 without yielding to Dunkel.

The report said that Dunkel could not have avoided colliding with the SUV. According to the report, Dunkel was not wearing a helmet.
Dunkel was killed in the crash, but his female passenger, Tami Mysak, survived and was transported to a local hospital.
