Still Energy Outages From Massive Thunderstorm in Marion

Alliant Energy Spokesperson, Scott Drzycimski, said there are still customers in Marion without power after last night's thunderstorms.

Yesterday's 90 mile-per-hour downpour knocked electricity out to thousands of people in the area, and many of them are still without power.

In the storm, 20,000 utility customers were without power in Linn, Benton, Iowa, Johnson and Jones counties, according to the Gazette.

Today, Scott Drzycimski, the Manager of Customer Communications at Alliant Energy, has said that 700 energy consumers in Marion and Cedar Rapids are without power. Drzycimski went on to assure those without power that Alliant crews will be working day and night to get the outages resolved.
