FBI Questions and Releases Man About Missing Evansdale Girls Following Report of Cedar Rapids Abduction Attempt
An FBI official spoke to the Gazette about a man they are questioning in the case of two missing Evansdale girls.
The FBI questioned a man in connection to the case of following Tuesday's attempted abduction in Cedar Rapids.
The abduction attempt in Cedar Rapids, which involved a white van, prompted an alert in Evansdale. It gave the FBI the idea to review surveillance images of a white Chevy Astro van at an Evansdale gas station on the day of the kidnapping.
An FBI official told to the Gazette that the man they spoke to was not a suspect in the case.

It's unknown whether the driver of this white Chevy Astro is the same as the driver of a white Astro that was involved in an attempted abduction in on Tuesday, or a man in a white van who solicited candy from a boy in last week, or even the man in the white van who touched a girls face before she ran away, in Dubuque.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the tip line at 319-232-6682 or the FBI at 402-493-8688.
