Five Essential Facebook Pages To "Like" in Marion
The social media presence of these Marion locales reaches a space far bigger than their brick-and-mortor walls.

The average person spends eight hours a month on Facebook.
That's an entire workday filled with nothing but reading complaints from acquaintances, jokes from friends and (double) checking on ex-girlfriends.
But there are ways to make better use of the online social medium that's guilt free. Follow these local businesses on Facebook and start making use of those eight hours.

I'm not in the demographic of a celebrity influinced purse shop, but I know at least half of you may be. Still, for purse wearing, double X chromosmed people, the idea of a shop devoted entirely to purses and one that changes its catalog with the seasons is very attractive. Their Facebook page does a great job of displaying new invintory and promoting special deals.

Sample post: "In honor of St. Patty's Day we are giving you 15 % Off your entire purchase, but you must be wearing green!"

For those of you that have been, you know that The Dreaming Bear is not an ordinary gift store. The items are vibrant and the workshops and events offer a sense of learning and community. The Dreaming Bear's Facebook page is a digital reflection of this. It's a great way to keep up with all the goings on in the store.
- Sample post: "Howdy friends! I'm thrilled to share this with you...."Art Rocks" is a program we started a few years ago to give individuals with developmental disabilities a chance to express themselves through art. We've been in hiatus as of late...but recently have started back up with a FUN group of kids from Prairiewood Transitional Center. It is a joy and privilege to work with them. Click on my latest blog post to see what our first project was! From there, you can click on a link to their blog, and to the Art Rocks info page on our website!"Â
Surprised not to see Marion Patch's Facebook page on the list? Don't worry, I would never stoop to that low level of pathetic self-promotion.
