Four Injured in Marion Apartment Complex Stabbing

Cedar Rapids resident Matthew Robinson allegedly stabbed two people and beat another at a Marion apartment complex on Grand Avenue.

The  is investigating a stabbing on Grand Avenue that occurred just after dawn Saturday.

A Cedar Rapids man allegedly stabbed two people at an apartment complex on Grand Avenue. Police say Cedar Rapids resident Mariah Lang, 21, and Marion resident Edwin Vassar, 48, were found with multiple wounds to the face and arms, according to The Gazette. Marion resident Antoinette Vassar, 53, was injured as well, and additionally claimed she was hit over the head with a chair.

Lang was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center, where she was treated and released, the paper reported.

The suspect, 38-year-old Matthew Robinson, was found by the police after he was admitted to Mercy Medical Center with a stab wound to the abdomen, according to the report 

Once he’s out of the hospital, Robinson will face a charge of domestic assault with a weapon and two charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, the paper reported.
