Marion's $.5M Boyson Road Trail to Cater to Cyclists, Walkers
According to Richard Fox, the director of Marion's Parks and Recreation Department, the mile-long Boyson Road trail will be completed by the end of June.

Marion is one step closer from having a trail that connects Marion to Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Waterloo.
Director Richard Fox said the Boyson Road trail is going to make a lot of residents happy.
"We have a lot of support for trails in Marion," he said. "They are anxious to get that link completed."

The $500,000 project extends about a mile from Marion's south side to its north.
The trail is 10 feet wide and made up of crushed limestone, which Fox said will accommodate both pedestrians and cyclists.

However, two more phases of the project will need to be completed before the trail makes the link to Cedar Rapids, which connects to Waterloo.
Due to funding difficulties, Fox said he's unsure exactly when the city will be able to afford to complete the final two phases of the project, which he said should cost around $1.5 million. Â He said it may take five years, but he admitted it may be much longer.
