Hiawatha Couple Has One More Thing to Share: Burglary and Fraud Charges
Marion Police arrested Michael and Airika Kimball at the end of November on multiple charges.

A young Hiawatha couple that goes out together and shops also gets arrested together.
Marion Police say Airika Kay and Michael Henry Kimball, both 21, stole a debit card from a residence in Marion and then went on a shopping spree in November.
Police say the Hiawatha couple entered a residence at 137 Cedar Drive and Michael took a debit card that belonged to the homeowner. This was around 11 a.m. on Nov. 29.

Armed with the card, they went on a shopping spree that included Burger King, Walmart and Hawkeye Gas, according to police. They also spent a gift card that they purchased with the stolen credit card, police say.
The couple received matching charges: third-degree burglary and credit card fraud.

The criminal complaint does not specify the value of the items purchased. According to Iowa Code, "If the value of the property or services secured or sought to be secured by means of the credit card is greater than one thousand dollars but not more than ten thousand dollars, an offense under this section is a class D felony, otherwise the offense is an aggravated misdemeanor." If it is more than $10,000 it is a class C felony.
Burglary in the third degree is a class D felony.
