Holiday Hours: What's Opened and What's Closed Around Marion for Christmas Eve and Christmas

Thanksgiving is time for family, but we know you may need to get out of the house. So, here's what you can expect if you do venture out.

Marion Public Library

The library will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24, which is Christmas Eve, and Tuesday, Dec. 25, which is Christmas Day.

City/County

Marion City Hall and other city offices will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Linn County offices will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas.

The LIFTS service will run on a limited schedule on Christmas Eve.

Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee will close at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, remain closed on Christmas Day and reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Schools

Both Marion Independent at Linn-Mar will be on winter break. School resumes on Thursday, Jan. 3.

Exercise

The Marion YMCA will be open from 5 a.m. to noon on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas.

Pharmacy

Walgreens is open.

• On Christmas Eve, the hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pharmacies will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
• On Christmas Day, non-24 hour stores will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Pharmacies open in 24 hour stores and select locations; 24-hour stores always open.

Mail

Most Post Offices and mail collections close early on Christmas Eve. There is no mail delivery or U.S. Post Office retail service on Christmas.

UPS is closed on Christmas.
