How Did Police Identify Marion Stabbing Suspect Five Months After Incident?

The Cedar Rapids Police Department recently arrested Marion resident Jason Morris for the attempted murder of a Cedar Rapids man.

When I with Cedar Rapids Police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, she wasn't able to answer the biggest question I had about Marion resident Jason Morris.

More was charged with attempted murder, stemming from an incident in September. I wanted to know how did police find him five months after the original incident?

According to a story from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, police were able to track him down from witness testimonies that identified Morris. They later connected his DNA to samples found at the crime scene.

Allen was immediately rushed to the hospital, and according to a previous interview with Hamblin, he has since made a recovery and returned to work.

However, one question remains: the motive. Hamblin previously said she was not aware of what led to the argument or the violent stabbing, but in the recent Cedar Rapids Gazette story, reporter Jeff Raasch wrote that the Cedar Rapids Police Department has yet to talk publicly about the motive.
