How Much Would You Pay to Fix This Aging Wall?

The Marion City Council has recently approved a plan to refurbish the retaining wall on the south end of Marion City Park.

It may not look like much, but the Marion City Park retaining wall, pictured to the right, has some historical value.

In moving forward with the central corridor project, which aims to give uptown Marion and Sixth Avenue a major facelift, the council has decided to refurbish the ailing wall.

The cost to complete the project has been estimated between $160,000 and $200,000.

The council agreed that this plan would best address the decay of the generations-old wall, while keeping look consistent with Marion's history.

The other option was for a completely new wall, which was given an approximated price tag of $400,000.
