Is Marion's Oak Shade Cemetery Haunted?
A submission to ghostsofamerica.com tells an eerie tale of ghosts and seemingly inexplicable happenings near Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.

I've had to about many of my beliefs, so I might as well fess up and say that I don't believe in ghosts at all.
But that doesn't mean I'm not fascinated with stories of the unreal, and, in my opinion, the impossible. After all, I covered Henry, the former of a Tenth Street business, and paranormal expert Curt Strutz' visit to the Marion Public Library.
So, when I found this website that collects user submissions of ghost stories in towns across the nation, I discovered seven pages of accounts about ghosts in Marion.

We live right next to Oak Shade Cemetery. So close that one winter a hearse backed up our driveway because it was the closest they could get to unload the coffin.
As a kid I grew up close to the cemetery and I used to hear a “scream” coming from there that sounded like a woman screaming for help.
As an adult I was walking through the cemetery with my wife and low and behold we heard the most blood curdling woman's scream coming from the south side of the cemetery, where I always heard it as a kid.
We don't walk through at night anymore.
And:
My wife came home one night. The house was locked, windows all locked, no sign of any forced entry, but when she walked inside every single light was on in the house and every single drawer had been opened up. Even the jewelry box drawers and a few blankets and other items had been taken from the closet and placed in the middle of the kitchen floor.
Nothing was missing or taken.
Stay tuned next week, when I'll be speaking with residents living near the cemetery to see if they've had similar experiences.
