Is This Fall? Mild Temperatures, Chance of Rain Continue this Week in Marion

Don't expect the temperatures to surge back up to summer highs. At least not this week.


It felt more like the end of September than the end of July this past weekend, and it looks like that trend may continue.

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities predicts the weather in Marion this week will continue to be mild, with a chance of rain Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Here are the predicted outcomes:

  • Monday Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Monday Night A 20 percent chance of showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. South wind around 5 mph.
  • Tuesday A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76.
  • Tuesday Night A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.
  • Wednesday A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 81.
  • Wednesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 62.
  • Thursday Sunny, with a high near 80.
  • Thursday Night A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.
  • Friday A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77.
  • Friday Night A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
  • Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
  • Saturday NightPartly cloudy, with a low around 61.
  • Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.

Weather Underground concurs mostly with the National Weather Service as far as the temperatures go, but that site has Marion's chance for rain as highest on Tuesday and Wednesday. The site also has the temperature dropping into the low seventies next week in its 10-day forecast.
