The Linn County Auditor is seeking an investigation after three absentee ballot requests contained irregularities.
The forms contained incorrect voter data and signatures that didn't match signatures previously on file, Linn County Auditor Joel Miller said in a statement.
The Gazette reports, citing Miller, that election misconduct can be a felony.

Miller turned over the three absentee ballot request forms to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for investigation after being directed to do so by the Linn County Attorney’s Office.
Miller is reminding voters, and those offering absentee ballot request forms to voters, that the absentee ballot request form must be signed by the registered voter and no other person.

Voters are being called to vote in a special election about whether to grant permission for a casino to be built in Linn County. The Election Day is on March 5, but early voting has already begun.
