Linn County Uses Budget Surplus to Fund Slashed Organizations
Linn County Supervisors have approved $100,000 in surplus money to fund two programs that were earlier subject to budget cuts

The Linn County Supervisors agreed today to use $100,000 in surplus funds from Linn County Community Services to help pay for two programs with previously slashed budgets.Â
Well over half the money, $62,782, will go towards Mobile Crisis Outreach, a program that provides emergency mental health counselors, who often assist police in domestic calls, according to a story from the Gazette.
The rest, $35,489, will be issued to CABS, a program which arranges taxi pickups for the off hours of Linn County's transportation system.

The Mobile Crisis Outreach program had previously seen its budget cut in the current fiscal year by nearly one half. Supervisors also cut funding to CABS in that same series of budget setbacks.
