Congratulations to Linn-Mar students Tristan Bohn and Brianna Kelley on their Gold medal wins at the Special Olympics Iowa State Summer Games. Approximately 2,700 athletes from across the state competed at this event held on the Iowa State University Campus.
“The Summer Games are the largest Special Olympics Iowa event held each year,” said SOIA President and CEO Hal Pittman. “Athletes, their families, and coaches travel to Ames from every part of the state for this athletic competition. This is their chance to show what they’ve been training for, as well as a great opportunity for camaraderie with the greater Special Olympics community.”
Both Linn-Mar students had competed locally in April and qualified for State in the 50-yard dash and softball throw events.
