Marion Editor's Note: Marion Life Story
A new series of profiles is coming to Marion Patch, written in the words of those who live and work in Marion.

I want to do something a little bit different.
My job can often be boiled down to speaking with a lot of experts on various subjects and trying to find how a given subject effects the general population.
This is great, because it offers a mix of factual informal and more easily digestible human reactions to situations caused by the aforementioned factual circumstances.

So a good story is like reading a non-fiction book and reading a novel, at the same time. When done properly, it can help someone understand the full scope of an issue, from technical details of processes and institutions to the human emotions that are caused by them.
As a journalist, I strongly believe in this format, and will continue to pursue it and grow it as best I can.

But I would also like introduce another format to Marion Patch.
I want to have stories that remove the experts, complicated processes and my voice.
So, I will be starting a new series of profiles on people who live and work in the area, allowing them to tell their fascinating stories while I sit, listen, and edit the interview down for conciseness and clarity.
You can nominate someone for Marion Patch to feature by emailing me or leave suggestions in the comment section.
Despite the name of the series, Life Story, these interviews do not aim to describe a person in whole, as no hour or two hour long interview can reveal an entire person's life story and personality.
I hope to give you a glimpse into a person's life, through their own words.
I believe you will find that these stories will read faster and will dive headfirst into the most fascinating explanations and explorations of a real, live, human being.
But it will take actually reading one of these pieces for me to really get across what I am talking about. So click the link and tell me what you think.
