Longtime Linn-Mar Guidance Counselor Passes Away

A longtime guidance counselor at Linn-Mar schools has passed away.

Mary Griswold, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Nov. 19, while on leave for health reasons, according to the school.

"She passed away at her home, in her easy chair, showing no signs of distress," the school's website states. 

Griswold had been planning to return as a counselor in December. She had worked at the school for 16 years, having started in 1997. She loved her students and was dedicated to them, according to the school.

Funeral services were this past weekend. Griswold is buried at Wyoming Cemetery near where she grew up in Wyoming, IA.
