Man Injured in Snowmobile Accident in Linn County
Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle snowmobile accident in a farm field on Christmas Eve that sent Shawn J. VanDivier, of Coggon, to the hospital.

Linn County Sheriff's Office is investigating a snowmobile accident that occurred on Christmas Eve.
They say Shawn J. VanDivier, 42, of Coggon, was heading southbound in a farm field when he lost control of a snowmobile that he was driving at about 5:12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24.
VanDivier was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids and later to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City for further treatment. He appeared to have non-life threatening injuries, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

The field is just east of North Marion Road, about a half mile north of Central City Road (E-16).
There were no passengers on his snowmobile, no other vehicles involved in this accident and VanDivier was wearing a helmet.
