Marion Asian Massage Owner Charged with Prostitution Runs Afoul of the Law Again

This has not been a good couple of months for the owner of Asian Massage in Marion.

The bad news has even followed her into the new year, with another arrest today for providing a massage without a license.

According to a Marion Police On October 19, Jennifer Yue Dougherty, 47, the owner of Asian Massage located at 271 7th Ave. was arrested by officers of the Marion Police Department for prostitution. This arrest was made after police received a tip from a confidential informant that "sex acts" were traded for money at this establishment and "Massage Heaven" also in Marion.

On December 20, the Marion City Council revoked the Public Amusement license for Doughterty's massage parlor. Massage parlors are regulated under Marion City Code section 131 as a Public Amusement.

Following the revocation of the Public Amusement license for Asian Massage, the Marion Police Department received complaints that Asian Massage was still conducting business, according to the release.

Earlier today, a plain clothes Marion police officer entered the business and asked for a massage, according to the release. Jennifer Dougherty allgedly agreed to provide a massage in exchange for $40.  Doughtery was subsequently arrested for Operating a Public Amusement without a License (Marion City Code 131.02) and taken to the Linn County Jail. The offense is a simple misdemeanor.

Dougherty was previously charged with prostitution, an aggravated misdemeanor, and keeping a disorderly house, also a simple misdemeanor.
