Cleaning Service Takes Chores Off Your List: Marion Business Spotlight

What's something everyone has to do yet everyone hates?

Chores.

Well, maybe that's my personal struggle.

To that end, today we feature Absolutely Clean in Patch's business spotlight.

Absolutely Clean is a maid service located in Marion. It's been in operation since January 2001.

"Absolutely Clean cleans homes and we do it well," owner Stephanie Nesseth said. "We take that chore off the list so you can spend time doing what you want or need to do."

The company uses environmentally safe products and has a trained staff that is tested and educated on what to use on various surfaces, Nesseth said.

The biweekly clean is the most popular service, but weekly cleanings are on the rise, she said. Shaklee Scour Off paste is the most popular product, and many customers order directly through the website, she said.

The company started 12 years ago when the owner's son was surviving cancer and she needed a flexible job so she could be with her family more. Nesseth also founded Time in a Bottle, Inc., a non-profit that provides free cleaning for parents who are helping their children survive cancer. Absolutely Clean also provides this service, she said.

"Cleaning isn't a luxury, it's a necessity," Nesseth said.
